Patt's creative development was inspired by the textures and colours of the rural Saskatchewan landscape, where she was born and raised. Like most girls, Patt had dolls but rather than play with them she designed their wardrobes, furniture and houses. She spent many hours drawing designs, sewing and crafting items. During this period of her childhood she began the study of music. Patt followed the creative path in her career as a Floral Designer and Interior Decorator, owning business in Saskatoon and Calgary. During this time she dressed windows and set up displays, gave workshops throughout Canada and held a teaching position at Olds College. Patt attended many classes, workshops and symposiums on ceramics, floral design, silk painting, jewellery making, monotype and watercolour. In Calgary in 2005, Maxine Masterfield presented a week long workshop on Mixed Media and this became the catalyst needed to launch a new interest in art. Patt weaves her many experiences into her mixed media art developing a tactile surface rich with texture and colour.
In the fall on 2008 Patt and her partner Rick moved to the Oceanside area of Vancouver Island. Together they own and operate "Inspired Interiors" a painting and home styling/staging business. Patt also plays the Celtic harp and provides music for local events and teaches lessons in her home studio.
Patt is a member of the local Des Cosmos art group, the Federation of Canadian Artists and the American Institute of Floral Designers(AIFD)
